Concert Band MPA
Sight-reading Update for 2023
We will again follow these grade levels for sightreading for 2023; however,
directors will have the option to request to read at the regular level.
NC Grade 1: No Sightreading Required
NC Grade 2: UIL Grade .5 Sightreading
NC Grade 3: UIL Grade 1 Sightreading
NC Grade 4: UIL Grade 2 Sightreading
NC Grade 5: UIL Grade 3 Sightreading
NC Grade 6: UIL Grade 4 Sightreading

FROM NCBA for 2023:
Sight reading will continue to be two UIL levels lower but directors will have the option
to request read at the regular level.
No electronics will be allowed for 2022-2023 unless specified in the piece by the composer.
Personnel will be allowed to be duplicated but it will be for comments only.
