Membership/Website/Yahoo Group: (R. Holmes) Thanked everyone who got in touch

with members based on the list provided via the yahoo group. Reminder was given that each year everyone must go online and register. If you havenÕt subscribed to the Yahoo Group, the email address is listed on the agenda (Southcentraldistrict-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) and a form at this meeting is provided for you to turn in tonight to make things easier to be able to join. Each member, if they like, may use their home and school email addresses. If you have any problems, email Richard. An upgrade for forms is what Richard would like to do.

Fall In-Service Š November 10-13, 2007 Š Winston Salem: Reminder was given to

get your registration in early and forms are on-line.

District Band Auditions: (Mark and Anne Reese, Tim Hamilton) No forms will be distributed, use online registration form on website. Performance order will be determined by order in which students are entered/registered but is verified/changed by postmark date when check is received. Registration will not be complete until check is received. Registration deadline is midnight on 12/5/07. Make sure that you print a confirmation for yourself so that you can check the spelling of names and the instruments on which students are registered. If you register students, then you are expected to be at auditions to judge and supervise your students. Auditions to be held 1/12/08 at South Point HS, Belmont, NC. Judges do not get paid for this event.

Dates for the audition was discussed because of the change in date this year and conflict with the Western Region Orchestra Auditions.  Directors who have students auditioning for both groups will need to contact Mark and Anne as soon as possible in order to make accommodations to allow students to audition for both All-District and Orchestra. Please do not wait until Dec. 5, 2007.

All-District Clinic: (Ken & Felecia Davis, Josh Stephenson) Ken Davis reported that clinic will be held at Mooresville HS on 1/25-26/07 with the Snow dates of 2/1-2/07. Middle School clinician is Mekel Rogers, 9/10 clinician is Wille Halpin, and 11/12 clinician is Timothy Rhea. We will find out more about this at the November state meeting.

Discussion was brought up about the two day clinic vs. the three day clinic.  We will make a motion to bring back the three day clinic at the State Convention. In 2009, at this time, the Honors Clinic will only be two days.
