audition chair,
- Proposal to have students play all required
scales (in order from most sharps to most flats) within a designated
time- 3 1/2 minutes for middle school, 3 minutes for high school- send
feedback to them, same as all state auditions with the exception of the
timed component.
- Revised rubric on how to judge and how to award
points-see handout information will be on the website also - APPROVED

Percussion requirements-postponed until next year-new
rudimental solo that will replace current rudiments, can still choose
individual percussion, copies were passed out, on website also
- New late registration process-see website for
details
- Suggested changes to Rudiments- motion to approve
the rudimental percussion solo for All-State be used this year for
All-District, before we move there at the state level: Motion: NOT
APPROVED
- Motion for rudiments to be completed in 5

- Update from the summer meeting - no significant
changes were made to the Judges Sheet just some changes in sheet layout.
Feedback to Scott before November, please help proofread the document and
let the state committee know, will also be posted on the state website.
- Standing Rule Amendment- sight reading judge
may not listen to band performance on stage before judging the band in
sightreading, judge can not request to work with the band at the conclusion
of the sightreading. This rule will be considered by the NCBA Board at
its November meeting.
- Motion for our district to request the
sightreading judge to not sit in and listen to the bandÕs stage
performance-APPROVED
- NEW procedure for MPA Chairs Ðpresident elect
will send directions to the MPA chair, chair will go over the guidelines
with the judging panel.
